Artist Statement
Anthony Davis’s arrival on the scene in L.A. marks a return to the glory days for the storied Lakers franchise. He is a player destined to leave a towering mark on the city for years to come.
The balls flying toward Hollywood in the image signify the return to prominence of basketball in Los Angeles and a team once referred to as “Showtime”. In his first season with his new team, he helped lead the Lakers franchise to its 17th NBA title.
